Combining Items
The Kingdom knows a lot of ways to combine items of various types with each other.
- Meat pasting. Uses meat paste to combine 2 items. Can be undone with the help of the Untinker in Seaside Town, but you will not get your meat paste back.
- Cooking. Uses adventures if you use the bare oven, or "charges" of the chef-in-the-box if you made one. Each chef-in-the-box lasts for about 80-90 dishes produced, then it explodes, spitting out a few items at random. Clockwork chefs-in-the-box last about 4 times as long before they explode, producing a few more random items in the process.
- Cocktailcrafting. Uses adventures if you use the bare cocktailcrafting kit, or "charges" of the bartender-in-the-box if you made one. Each bartender-in-the-box lasts for about 80-90 drinks produced, then it explodes, spitting out a few items at random. Clockwork bartenders-in-the-box last about 4 times as long before they explode, producing a few more random items in the process.
- Meatsmithing. Uses adventures. If you have ascended under a muscle moon sign, Innabox can save you some turns. Note that he cannot smith items for which you need to learn a skill, like Armorcraftiness or Super-Advanced Meatsmithing.
- Jewelrymaking. Yes, there is jewelry in the Kingdom. You have to ascend under a mysticality moon sign to be able to buy the jewelry-making pliers, and each item requires 3 turns to make it. It takes time to make good jewelry!
All of these crafting methods are available via the crafting link in the top pane. Additionally, the crafting interface allows you to make meat stuff: Create meat paste, meat stacks and dense meat stacks which are occassionally used as ingredients for meatsmithing and meat pasting (hence the name).
Some methods are not accessible with this link. They either require access to a certain device or just your inventory.
- Multi-using. A few items in the Kingdom will turn into a new item if you click the use multiple link next to them and enter the right number to use at once. Ever tried multi-using 2 long skinny balloons?
- Supertinkering. If you ascended under a moxie moon sign, you have access to a new area with some new devices. One of these allows you to create advanced mechanical products using flanges and clockwork keys. This is where you get all the cool clockwork items.
- Mushroom planting. Well, technically you cannot really combine any mushrooms from your inventory. But you can plant mushrooms in a certain way so they will breed together creating new mushrooms! There are up to 4 generations of mushrooms available, and some can even be used to get new familiars.
- Pulverizing. Being a Seal Clubber at level 15 allows you access to the Malus in your guild. The same skill also lets you pulverize most equipment that you can wear. (Note: This does not go for familiar equipment.) Pulverizing results in powders, nuggets or wads, and the Malus lets you smash 5 piles of powder into 1 pile of nuggets, or 5 piles of nuggets into 1 wad. This skill doesn't use up any turns, but you should take care about what equipment you pulverize - there is no Undo button!
- Woking. Being a Pastamancer at level 15 allows you to access the Wok in your guild. Use this to cook your stir-fries or casseroles into mein or lasagna dishes. This requires dry noodles and MSG for each dish as well as 1 adventure.
- Stilling. Well, not really since it is not combining anything, but I'll put it here for completeness. Being a Disco Bandit at level 15 allows you access to Nash Cosby's Still which can refine some fruits and basic booze for you. You want a raspberry? Throw in a strawberry and hit the button! Note that you can use this for up to 10 items per day.
- Adding. This one is required for the level 9 quest. You adventure in the Orc Chasm until you have enough numeric scrolls, then fight your way to the next adding machine to feed it your scrolls, 2 at a time.
